During World War II, he served as an enlisted man in the United States Army Air Forces.[3] After the war, he attended the University of California at Los Angeles on both a basketball scholarship and the G.I. Bill, where he played under coach John Wooden. Connors went to law school, where he studied to become an attorney, taking after his father.\n\nConnors's film career started in the early 1950s, when he made his acting debut in a supporting role opposite Joan Crawford and Jack Palance in the thriller Sudden Fear (1952). Connors married Mary Lou Willey on September 10, 1949, when they were both UCLA students. They had two children, a son, Matthew Gunnar Ohanian, and a daughter, Dana Lee Connors.\n\nConnors died in Tarzana, California, at the age of 91 on January 26, 2017, a week after being diagnosed with leukemia. During the 1952-1953 season, NBC rotated with other variety shows in a Sunday night block known as \"The Colgate Comedy Hour\" (Sept. 1950 to Dec. 1955). Also known as, \"The Chevy Show with Bob Hope.\" When the first special debuted in October of 1950 it was the most expensive television program made up to that point - costing an astronomical $1,500 a minute to produce. Bob Hope had his own television show and radio show at the same time. For the next three seasons, The Bob Hope Show was broadcast once a month on Tuesday nights, giving Milton Berle a week off. Bob ended his radio show in April, 1956. Bob Hope also had another show by a similar name, \"The Bob Hope Show (All Star Revue)\". In addition, he performed in \"Specials\" for many years. It is the longest running variety program in television's history with a record of 45 years of televised entertainment.",43.1124,"\u002F155ZMISJkCkTleBKKoNlubt51bB.jpg","1950-04-09","6518722a9d592c0102bf9ccf","1973-11-13",{"adult":4,"backdrop_path":1130,"genre_ids":1131,"id":1132,"origin_country":1133,"original_language":32,"original_name":1134,"overview":1135,"popularity":1136,"poster_path":1137,"first_air_date":1138,"softcore":4,"name":1134,"vote_average":1139,"vote_count":1140,"character":55,"credit_id":1141,"episode_count":71,"first_credit_air_date":1142,"media_type":667},"\u002FqFfWFwfaEHzDLWLuttWiYq7Poy2.jpg",[1085],2261,[657],"The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson","The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson is a talk show hosted by Johnny Carson under The Tonight Show franchise from 1962 to 1992.
