Davis became an overnight sensation following a nightclub performance at Ciro's after the 1951 Academy Awards, with the trio, became a recording artist, and made his first film performances as an adult later that decade. In 1954, he lost his left eye in an automobile accident. Later the same year, he converted to Judaism. In 1960, he appeared in the first Rat Pack movie, Ocean's 11. After a starring role on Broadway in 1956's Mr Wonderful, Davis returned to the stage in 1964's Golden Boy, and in 1966 had his own TV variety show, The Sammy Davis Jr. Show. Davis's career slowed in the late sixties, but he had a hit record with "The Candy Man", in 1972, and became a star in Las Vegas.

As an African American, Davis was the victim of racism throughout his life, and was a large financial supporter of civil rights causes. Davis had a complex relationship with the African American community, and attracted criticism after physically embracing Richard Nixon in 1970. One day on a golf course with Jack Benny, he was asked what his handicap was. "Handicap?" he asked. "Talk about handicap — I'm a one-eyed Negro Jew." This was to become a signature comment, recounted in his autobiography, and in countless articles.

After reuniting with Sinatra and Dean Martin in 1987, Davis toured with them and Liza Minnelli internationally, before dying of throat cancer in 1990. He died in debt to the Internal Revenue Service, and his estate was the subject of legal battles.

Davis was awarded the Spingarn Medal by the NAACP, and was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for his television performances. He was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 1987, and in 2001, he was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.","1925-12-08","1990-05-16",2,null,20156,"nm0002035","Acting","Sammy Davis Jr.","Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA",1.2957,"/b6UVWbUBAR280fSC85FgyPSmxHe.jpg
25,43,56,72,86,99,110,126,139,151,163,178,191,201,213,225,238,251,264,277,289,302,314,326,334,344,354,368,379,388,399,409,418,429,440,452,463,472,483,492,503,516,529,537,547,556,568,577,588,599,609,618,626,638,647,656,667,676,685,693,704,715,727,739,748,757,768,780,788,799,811,823,834,844,854,862,874,883,893,902,912,920,929,939,948,957,967,975,985,994,1003,1014,1023,1033,1043,1052,1062,1070,1079,1086,1095,1104,1116,1126,1135,1146,1155,1164,1175,1184,1193,1202,1213,1222,1229,1238,1245,1252,1260,1267,1276,1288,1300,1311,1321,1331,1341,1349,1360,1370,1379,1393,1406,1418,1431,1446,1457,1470,1482,1492,1503,1514,1527,1540,1554,1566,1578,1590,1602,1615,1626,1639,1653,1666,1676,1689,1702,1707,1720,1732,1738,1744,1753,1767,1779,1791,1805,1816,1825,1836,1848,1853,1861,1871,1884,1896,1908,1921,1931,1942,1957,1969,1982,1993,2007,2021,2027,2039,2051,2064,2069,2079,2091,2105,2117,2129
"/vJLSt7NvYP85nR4XJ8CxnMadf6G.jpg",[28,29,30],80,35,53,299,"Ocean's Eleven","en","Danny Ocean and his gang attempt to rob the five biggest casinos in Las Vegas in one night.",11.0398,"/A4R6u7SidBPVXMVzGSysCiRGTRz.jpg","1960-08-10",6.373,426,"Josh Howard","52fe4234c3a36847f800bf91","movie
[45,29],99,1077136,"Hollywood's Funniest All-Star Bloopers","William Shatner, Liz Taylor and many more stars blow lines, lose their pants and more in this hilarious collection of movie and TV bloopers.",1.2891,"/yOIrUPMXPDuOalIYyVsdp1ycV5s.jpg","1985-01-01",1,"Self (archive footage)","63cc6a1c6d97e6008c2514a1",12
"/hFaFE7EpKTnjG3LDhoV40gd9vsU.jpg",[59,60,61],10402,18,10749,1940,"Porgy and Bess","In the early 1900s, the fictional Catfish Row section of Charleston, South Carolina serves as home to a black fishing community. It also broke new ground in American television by using a 'Theatre-in-the-Round' stage format, with the audience seated on all sides of a circular performance area.

Wilson was most famous for creating the role of Geraldine Jones, a sassy, modern woman who had a boyfriend named Killer. Flip also created the role of Reverend Leroy, who was the minister of the Church of What's Happening Now!. It aired on the ABC network in the United States.

In order to secure Andrews for the series, Sir Lew Grade and ABC offered her an extremely lucrative contract. In 1963, when another major star, Judy Garland was signed to a weekly television variety series, it failed to catch on with the public. One of the main reasons for its demise was its constant change of format and the fact that critics and audiences felt that Garland was not shown off to her best advantage. In order to avoid that error, Andrews asked producer Nick Vanoff what the premise of the show would be about. Vanoff immediately answered her by saying "Julie Andrews...without Julie Andrews there is no 'Julie Andrews Hour'".

The show premiered on ABC Wednesday, September 13, 1972 at 10:00 P.M. ET to rave reviews. Unfortunately, its time slot proved to be daunting because it was up against the popular CBS detective series, Cannon. Another reason for the low ratings was that the lateness of the hour was not conducive to family viewing since children were in bed by that time. On Thanksgiving Eve, November 22, 1972, "The Julie Andrews Hour" devoted an entire episode saluting Walt Disney. To make it more of a "family special", ABC switched the time slot of "The Julie Andrews Hour" that night to 8:30 P.M. and The ABC Wednesday Movie Of The Week to 9:30 P.M. The ratings improved a little so ABC then made a decision to alternate Andrews' time period each week This continued until January, 1973 when the series was moved to Saturday nights at 9:00 P.M. The ratings went from bad to worse as Andrews' chief competition was The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Bob Newhart Show on CBS. "The Julie Andrews Hour" was finally canceled by ABC after its 24th episode in April, 1973.",5.2832,"/ooqZDeCLXBf0dn80kzWdIEmXNp.jpg","1972-09-13","5ba408e60e0a2646ec00645a","1973-03-03
[29,1494],[1384],"65b33901a0f1a20146be011d","1973-06-01
[],27197,[1384],"The Big Party",3.594,"1959-10-08","630266f228723c007af64ffb
[29],14575,[1384],"The Steve Allen Show",28.5829,"/6Adg8Zw4RkuWVvqMEH3CK5EhCDl.jpg","1956-06-24","Self - Guest","634c196e1089ba007d53daeb
"/wdPDHfWwkKlrT3REsctj0qE3xoo.jpg",[29,114],1027,[1384],"The Carol Burnett Show","The Carol Burnett Show is an American variety/sketch comedy television show starring Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, Lyle Waggoner, and Tim Conway. The format would have the celebrity guest seated at a banquet table, and one by one the guest of honor was affectionately chided or insulted about his career by his fellow celebrity friends.

In 1973, The Dean Martin Show was declining in popularity. The final season of his variety show would be retooled into one of celebrity roasts, requiring less of Martin's involvement. For the 1973–1974 season, a new feature called “Man of the Week Celebrity Roast" was added to try to pick up the ratings. The roasts seemed to be popular among television audiences and are often marketed in post-issues as part of the official Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts and not The Dean Martin Show. After The Dean Martin Show was cancelled in 1974, NBC drew up a contract with Martin to do several specials and do more roast specials.
