He abandoned plans to become an actor after training with Tamara Daykarhanova, and turned to directing summer theater. Ted Post taught Acting and Drama at New York's well-known High School of Performing Arts in 1950. He persuaded his friend, Sidney Lumet,to do likewise. Success in the theater led to work in television from the early 1950s. Post directed episodes of many well-known series including Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, Wagon Train, Rawhide, The Twilight Zone, Columbo and 178 episodes of Peyton Place. He has also directed TV movies (including the original Cagney and Lacey movie-of-the-week, and also feature films, including Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Go Tell the Spartans, and two Clint Eastwood films Hang 'Em High and Magnum Force. Post directed the 2001-2002 Festival of the Arts at Bel-Air's University of Judaism (now the American Jewish University).

Description above from the Wikipedia article Ted Post, licensed under CC-BY-SA, full list of contributors on Wikipedia.","1918-03-31","2013-08-20",2,null,18635,"nm0692872","Directing","Ted Post","Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA",0.954,"/y6IpMgvlUkHlVMSPXe0LydBBxwR.jpg
20,36,48,62,73,84
[22],99,272207,"Grace Kelly: The American Princess","en","A biography of American actress Grace Kelly from her early days as an aspiring actress to her death as Princess of Monaco.",1.3599,"/1uhmOjBrVROhepgbUqTG9yVkfHO.jpg","1987-06-08",7,3,"Self","65df933404b5960163ed1f6c",24,"movie
"/fNmZzXCiJg2K8RSNOyBRhm0UVLM.jpg",[22],1304620,"From Alpha to Omega: Building a Sequel","Documentary on the making of 'Beneath the Planet of the Apes' (1970).",1.1422,"/1gYC83PmDaaI7lorshL3EZsVsux.jpg","2008-11-04",0,"666c8714205b1e38c45226af",6
"/A78dCerimPYywZb3s4cFM62AGCx.jpg",[22],669130,"Dirty Harry: The Original","A retrospective look at the five Dirty Harry films (1971-88), starring Clint Eastwood.",1.2167,"/zdq5LeiIV9FpIaQIJNtk67syXQS.jpg","2001-11-20",7.3,13,"Self - Filmmaker","5e36b12298f1f1001805688e",5
[22],785897,"Burt Lancaster: Daring to Reach","He went from street-wise tough to art-collector liberal-activist, from circus-acrobat hunk to Academy Award winner. The character of Native American U.S. Marshal Sam Buckhart was introduced in two episodes of the popular ABC Western television series The Rifleman starring Chuck Connors as Lucas McCain.

Law of the Plainsman is distinctive and unique in that it was one of the few television programs that featured a Native American as the lead character, a bold move for U.S.network television at that time. Ansara had earlier appeared in the series Broken Arrow, having portrayed the Apache chief, Cochise. Ansara, however, was not Native American but of Syrian descent.

Ansara played Sam Buckhart, an Apache Indian who saved the life of a U.S. Cavalry officer after an Indian ambush. When the officer died, he left Sam money that was used for an education at private schools and Harvard University. After school, he returned to New Mexico where he became a Deputy Marshal working for Marshal Andy Morrison. He lived in a boarding house run by Martha Commager. The only other continuing character was 8-year old Tess Logan, an orphan who had been rescued by Buckhart. Robert Harland, later of Target: The Corruptors! starred in seven episodes as Deputy Billy Lordan. Wayne Rogers, who went on to star in another Four Star western, Stagecoach West, and later, M*A*S*H, also played deputy Lordan in several episodes.",12.8908,"/tReblyXSokbKbsxNKcDdsySmaMx.jpg","1959-10-01","52583437760ee36aaa91ba75","1959-12-03
"/xSJGgfup93mXMNkHKkbKuM3f7f3.jpg",[412,114],14781,[415],"The Detectives","The Detectives is an American crime drama series which ran on ABC during its first two seasons, and on NBC during its third and final season.
