After the fall of the dictatorship, he returned to Greece and filmed the film Balamos, which was screened at the 1982 Thessaloniki Film Festival. With co-screenwriter Charlotte van Gelder, he also directed the films Karkalou, Danilo Treles and A Heron for Germany.
