In late 1941, however, he had the good fortune of appearing on Broadway with Helen Hayes in "Candle in the Wind" and decided to stay. The following year he headed west and settled permanently in the Los Angeles area. A dark, cold-eyed, thin-lipped player with a precise, meticulous air about him, he found himself invariably playing the very characters he detested. Some of his more nefarious nasties surfaced in such films as the Humphrey Bogart classic Sahara (1943/I), as well as The Boy from Stalingrad (1943), U-Boat Prisoner (1944) and Till We Meet Again (1944). In postwar years, he was often spotted portraying ethnic professionals (scientists, doctors, professors, foreign royalty). Some of the more quality pictures he enhanced were Tomorrow Is Forever (1946); Count Von Papen in 5 Fingers (1952); and Ronchin in the Ethel Merman musical Call Me Madam (1953). Although Wengraf never made it to the very top of the Hollywood character ranks, he remained a throughly strong and reliable player. In the 1950s and 1960s he transferred his talents to TV, appearing on a number of dramatic showcases and on such popular programs as "The Untouchables" (1959), "Hawaiian Eye" (1959), "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (1964) and "The Time Tunnel" (1966). His last few films included minor roles in the war-themed Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), Hitler (1962) and Ship of Fools (1965). He retired in 1966, and died in Santa Barbara, California, at age 77, on May 4, 1974.","1897-04-22","1974-05-04",2,null,12157,"nm0920987","Acting","John Wengraf","Vienna, Austria-Hungary, now Austria",0.6999,"/lk8cPT3OgjlhUkud2y4wVMG3imE.jpg
20,38,54,70,84,99,114,127,142,155,166,181,194,206,219,229,242,253,265,277,290,302,313,326,341,354,365,377,390,401,415,427,440,451,462,473,486,499,510,520,534,546,559,570,581,600,613,625,638,650,662,674,686,699,711,724,736,748,759,770,781,795,807,819,825,830,836,842,855,868,881
"/aSlDcWtKNfRkW0SbsnEjnGBs9jV.jpg",[23,24],18,36,821,"Judgment at Nuremberg","en","In 1947, four German judges who served on the bench during the Nazi regime face a military tribunal to answer charges of crimes against humanity. Al was the producer. He hired five directors and five art directors. Richard Bennett, one of our first early presidents of the Pewter Plough Corporation, was one of the directors and I was one of the art directors and, as soon as we were through televising one play, we had lunch and then met to plan next week’s show. That was over 50 years ago, and I’m trying to think; I believe the TV art director is his own set decorator —yes, of course! Captain Matt Holbrook (Robert Taylor) is head of the detective division of a large metropolitan police force—a man whose devotion to duty, professional brilliance, and quick judgment are reflected in his 20-year career on the force. His aides, Lt. Johnny Russo (Tige Andrews), Lt. Otto Lindstrom (Russ Thorson), and Sgt. Chris Ballard (Mark Goddard) form a team that is both proficient and warmly human. The stories stress the interrelationships between the men as well as the solutions to crimes and the apprehension of criminals, adding a dimension of human drama to the excitement, action, and suspense inherent in each story of the detectives' difficult, sometimes thankless, and frequently dangerous assignments.",21.9535,"/AfTnudiCwpKitJ6XZcCj16FeIup.jpg","1959-10-16","Varchek","6974b72d53700cebcb693f1c","1962-02-23
"/bqNEDOyL8qqqLn4Iz59Sl0DmsSg.jpg",[130],981,[588],"The Danny Thomas Show","Danny Thomas, an entertainer, tries to balance his home life with the needs of his career, with hilarious results.",18.2693,"/l2ovIZjDq2PelProVtBXmK2SkkY.jpg","1953-09-29","Victor Waingraft","6a190ef83281de42f1745001","1956-12-10
[23],13178,[588],"You Are There","You Are There is an American historical educational television and radio series broadcast over the CBS Radio and CBS Television networks.",11.7354,"/dXApQQpOLmHUz7p9QmYM6j4OZI1.jpg","Dr. Zimmerman","6a40fe1a040762551db05711","1955-10-23",[
895,900
iso_3166_1":10,"iso_639_1":10
0.667,450,3.334,300
iso_3166_1":10,"iso_639_1":10
"/dmOn3lIAb4yDONB0HlTj9DODxfS.jpg",0]
