After completing his studies, he was a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna until 2019, before moving to the Thalia Theater Hamburg, where he has been a member of the ensemble ever since.\n\nSandmeyer gained wider recognition through film and television roles, including the TV movie *Ruhe! Hier stirbt Lothar*—starring alongside Jens Harzer—and the mockumentary series *Die Discounter*. In 2025, he also appeared in the sequel to *Der Schuh des Manitu*. His reddish mustache is considered his personal trademark—one he has not yet had to shave off for any role.
