For her performance in Evdokia, Vassiliou was awarded the prize for best actress in the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. She was subsequently typecast, in films such as Erotism and passion. She was cast in a main role, as protagonist Electra's sister Chrysotheme, in the landmark Theodoros Angelopoulos film The Travelling Players, in 1975.\n\nVassiliou was diagnosed with cancer in Cyprus and went to London for treatment where she died in July 1989. She had kept her illness a secret and her whereabouts were unknown until nearly the end, sparking rumours that she had been killed in 1977 in a car crash.\n\n(Source: Wikipedia)","1950-09-16","1989-07-05",1,null,10334,"nm0890828","Acting","Μαρία Βασιλείου","London, England",0.6601,"\u002FuaAGzXgDbpNB8Zpa1mfO6pWG2HG.jpg",{"cast":25,"crew":83},[26,46,60,73],{"adult":4,"backdrop_path":27,"genre_ids":28,"id":32,"title":33,"original_language":34,"original_title":35,"overview":36,"popularity":37,"poster_path":38,"release_date":39,"softcore":4,"video":4,"vote_average":40,"vote_count":41,"character":42,"credit_id":43,"order":44,"media_type":45},"\u002FrlUNDYAjvr1zfAXesT3ScxfBXLc.jpg",[29,30,31],18,10752,36,689,"El viaje de los comediantes","el","Ο θίασος","Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945), Grecia sufre la ocupación de las tropas nazis.
